TAX CREDIT FOR WINDOWS AND DOORS

Posted on Updated on

When President Obama signed into law the AMERICAN RECOVERY & REINVESTMENT TAX ACT of 2009, he

extended and modified the tax credit for new windows and doors.  Qualifying products purchased between

January 1, 2009 and December 31,2010 are  eligible for a tax homeowners credit  equal to 30% of their

costs.  The maximum homeowners credit is $1,500 during 2009-2010.

Be sure to get a manufacturer certification statement to document eligibility!!

I’ve been active in taxes for lengthier then I care to acknowledge, both on the individual side (all my working life!!) and from a legal standpoint since satisfying the bar and following up on tax law. I’ve provided a lot of advice and redressed a lot of wrongs, and I must say that what you’ve posted makes complete sense. Please uphold the good work – the more people know the better they’ll be outfitted to deal with the tax man, and that’s what it’s all about.
